Pine Firewood – Half Load / 10 Bags

We use a splitter to split the fire wood, which sometimes produces pieces that are not neat as some pieces are “torn ” apart. The pieces are  chunky (not too big though and will still fit a standard fire place)

These pieces do burn longer though as they are cut from harder, knottier portions.

Pine timber although a soft wood and burns quicker it actually burns hotter and works well to get your fire going before you put harder/longer burning wood on.

It has a bad rap for creating chimney fires but that’s not totally true.  Pine has a lot of pitch in it which burns easily and due to that you can burn Pine which is still green and not totally dry.  Burning green/unseasoned wood is the main reason creosote is built up in a chimney.
